‘Min’ is a new Web browser that helps you find anything instantly

If you’re pining for your browser to be simple & uncluttered & to do a little more than just help you visit Web pages, & you’re using a Mac or Ubuntu computer, then you may wanna consider Min. This new browser is free & open source with full integration with the DuckDuckGo search engine, so you opt-out from Google by default.

Min’s enhanced search & integration with the DuckDuckGo API means that you get answers to your questions immediately, including a calculator & Wikipedia entries, fuzzy search, suggestions before you start typing & searching is enabled over the full text of bookmarks. Min also adds interesting functionality to the search bar as well as features that streamline your experience when you have a lot of tabs open. The tabs are always opened to the right of the current tab & the tabs you haven’t looked at lately dim, which allows you to focus on the ones you’re working on, as well as the ability to swipe down to expand your tabs into a grid, so you can quickly find any tab.

Perhaps 1 of the most interesting features of the browser is its built-in ad blocking, which allows you to decide whether or not you want to see ads & block scripts & images to make pages load faster over slow internet connections. It also includes a reading list feature & a “focus mode” that prevents you from getting distracted.

Min is hosted on Github, where you can get the full source code, or download Mac OS X or Ubuntu linux versions (a Windows version is also in the works).  It is based on Chromium & the Electron cross-platform desktop app environment, & is written entirely in JavaScript using nodeJS.
