Microsoft halts some patch downloads to tackle Meltdown & Spectre – News

Microsoft’s patch for Spectre & Meltdown is slowing older PCs running on Windows 7 & 8, though machines with Windows 10 on them are not getting bogged down. The tech industry has been scrambling to issue updates to protect against the two CPU security flaws over the past week. There have been complaints of performance issues.
