Security has become more of a pressing issue due to the advent of social media. People continuously put themselves in danger by posting status reports, photos & their locations on their pages. They may not even realize the risks involved. Some people don’t even know that their location is being shared since they never read the terms & conditions of a particular social media Site when they sign up. A person with malicious intent can easily figure out a lot of details about a target on social media by going through their timeline.

Some vulnerable details include where a person lives, which places they frequent, how they look & their preferences. For this reason, people might need to add an extra layer of security. This is where Faceout comes in. First off since people are easily recognizable by their faces the Faceout app helps to mask their faces in photos.

A person’s face will be masked with an emoji of the user’s choice. One can choose an emoji based on the emotion that the subject of the photo was expressing at the time the picture was taken. This helps keep the individuals in each particular photograph anonymous. This masking is done in camera. However, the app will also save two versions of the picture. One with the emoji masks on & one without.

There are also various face packs to choose from. These include start pack, kitty pack, crazy pack & lastly the unlimited pack. Users can import a particular image from the gallery into the app & “face it out” before exporting it.

In addition, Faceout solves the problem of sharing locations where particular photos are taken. The user’s phone will no longer be able to geo-tag images indiscriminately. The app will only work with iOS version 11 or later. It is currently available in four languages namely English, French Japanese, & Spanish.

Faceout is free to download although there are some in-app purchases that will allow unlimited use of the app. The app is one of three in the App store by Patrik Prepsl & was launched in the year 2017. The other 2 are Mathicon & Flappy Dots.
