Uber has introduced ‘Uber Lite’, a simplified app of its original one, built in India, & aimed for the world. Uber Lite, it has said, was a simple version of the rider app that saves space, works on any network, & on any Android phone.
Uber Lite is less than 5MB to download (that’s equivalent to just 3 selfies). With a 300-millisecond response time, the company said the taxi booking process was now fast even in low connectivity, all the while keeping the core functionality of the mother app.
Uber Lite has a new interface, it was designed to make booking rides easier & quicker in spotty connectivity & slower than average Internet speeds, on basic Android phones, & for people with limited data plans. Obviously it’s aimed at countries that have slower connectivity.
