‘Tetra’ is a tool that automatically takes notes from your phone calls. The tool helps you avoid the multi-tasking involved between note-taking & talking when in a phone call. This allows you to focus entirely on the conversation & never take call notes again.
How Tetra Works
Tetra works by dialing into your calls. To do this, it requires you 1st schedule a call. You simply invite the tool’s bot @asktetra.com to your upcoming call on your calendar. They will then dial you just before your scheduled call starts. In addition, you can create a call in their web app.
Tetra dials you after which you accept & merge the calls as soon as your scheduled call starts. The tool then starts transcribing right away. In addition, the tool allows you to explore your notes once they have done the transcribing. You can read, listen to & search your notes in Tetra’s app. Its search engine allows you to type any phrase you remember talking about & it will jump you right to that part of the conversation.
It also allows you to share the notes with your team who didn’t participate in the call by sending them a link to your notes. Tetra will also let you export these notes to your favorite productivity tool. Be it Evernote, Dropbox, Slack or Google Docs. You can as well email Tetra to add your favorite tool.
Tetra also has trained human editors that help the tool to accurately transcribe your calls. According to its developers, these editors correct any errors in the tool’s automatic speech recognition software. Tetra finishes the automatic transcribe & sends you the notes within 6 hours at the end of the meeting.
The Tetra team claims that your calls are always confidential. They ensure that their editors are distributed all over the world & that no editor ever hears more than 15 secs of your call.
In addition, the editors sign NDAs as part of their employment contracts. Tetra also allows you to delete your meetings from their Web app. Once you do this it also permanently deletes your data from the servers. For more security, Tetra uses AWS security features that encrypt & protect access to your data in Amazon S3.
The tool is only available to users in the US. Its founders are Jonathan Goldsmith & Nik Liolios. It is headquartered in California, USA.
