San Francisco, July 16, 2015, PRNewswire: Storing encrypted responses is now possible with JotForm’s Encrypted Forms. Users who wish to have form responses viewable only by them — without even access from JotForm’s staff — will have their very own encryption key. The new feature was launched to provide users the most secure method possible for collecting valuable information online.
“Some industries understandably require the added benefit of encryption for their online forms,” said JotForm founder, Aytekin Tank. “A lot of JotForm users share our views about security, and this is a tremendous feature for them. This is an especially important feature for our users who work in industries where delicate information is exchanged online.”
Encrypted Forms is available to all users and can be set up for all future forms from the Account Settings page, or for individual forms under Form Preferences. The feature uses a powerful public key-private key encryption.
Once set up, instead of receiving notifications with submission details, users will be alerted when an encrypted response is received. They can then log in and use their private secure key to view the responses. Only users can access the responses; not even JotForm employees can view the submissions. The private key is only accessible to users, and can be auto-generated or entered by the user.
The difference between JotForm’s response encryption and other similar platforms is that the data never reaches JotForm’s own servers in a readable format, adding an extra element of security. The only information JotForm ever sees is the encrypted, securely unreadable data.

JotForm is a popular form building tool, famous for ease of use, advanced design and form template offerings, and for its many integrations — including multiple payment processors such as PayPal and Stripe. Founded in 2006, the company’s user count has grown to over 1.8 million.
