Here comes the middle finger (as emoji)

We can only report this development with a straight face. For the development is such, it only indicates the times we live in. Microsoft will, as part of its Windows 10 OS, be offering a “middle finger”emoji. Yup, that’s right. For most of us, that emoji denotes a rude gesture but for Microsoft, political correctness for now does not seem a big deal. The emoji will be available in 6 skin tones.

Emojipedia, a Site that is all about emojis, reported that skin tone modifiers, the middle finger, & a sassier information desk person are amongst the emoji updates in Windows 10. The middle finger emoji, it said, had been approved as part of Unicode 7 in mid-2014, yet was curiously absent from iOS, OS X, Android, and Windows. Until now.

While we reserve our comments on this development, awaiting our readers views, we have but 1 question – will this emoji become say as popular as the Facebook ‘like’ button?
