This is interesting. News agency Bloomberg has reported that Google had decided to get into the “coding boot camp” game by partnering with ‘General Assembly’ on a course designed to train those interested in Android development. General Assembly is a global network of campuses for technology, business, & design.
General Assembly Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer Jake Schwartz was quoted in the report as saying that Android was growing, & because there weren’t nearly enough developers trained for that system, it was causing a bottleneck for the platform. The fees for the 12-week course in Android development, which was designed by Google’s developer training team, is US $13,500. This was also the 1st time that Google had co-developed in-person classroom training for one of its products, Schwartz said.
In this program, students will learn everything they needed to create Android apps from scratch – programming, material design, connecting to 3rd-party services, & iterative design during development sprints — all adapted for the platform.
