Google committed to Chrome OS. Earlier reports had said it may be merged with Android

Update: Google may still committed to Chrome OS. The Verge reports that the man in charge of Android & Chrome OS, Senior Vice President Hiroshi Lockheimer has said that Google remains committed to Chrome OS, despite multiple reports that the company plans to merge the 2 operating systems later this year.

googlechromeloEarlier: Alphabet Inc., may be thinking of asking Google to merge its 2 operating systems – Chrome OS & Android. The combined OS could be revealed early next year, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. Chrome is essentially being folded into Android, because the latter had emerged as the dominant operating system. Combining the 2 OS will call for the setting up of Android on laptops, including Chromebooks, & PCs. Obviously this is a big change, something that will take Google time to roll.
