Most of us use YouTube to browse great multimedia content. From music to sports & news, the category list is endless, but this comes with a price: it gets harder to find interesting new stuff. This is where ‘Tuned Rocks’ is a big help, it’s a Site that helps you find & discover Content by curating your music & video needs with its stylish & engaging UX.
Tuned Rocks is composed of category channels, like its music channels which are tailored to include the best YouTube music videos in real time. The channels are split up by genres, like Dance/electronic, Pop, Metal, Hip-Hop/Rap, Alt/indie… but it also includes channels like New Rock, New Music this Week or New ODM Beats, that will help you discover new stuff.
The other main categories, besides music, are TV, Sports, Kids, News & Doc & Vlogs. When you enter a subcategory, for example, American Football in Sports, you’re immediately streamed Content from the list of most viewed videos without having to pick & choose from endless lists. It just goes on and on streaming videos.
The videos are hosted on YouTube but the user experience is heavily modified, with a lot of thought going into design and user interface aspects. It’s a real pleasure to use this site that puts vanilla YouTube to shame.
According to Joonas Nieminem, Finnish founder of Tuned Rocks, the ads that are run are the original YouTube ads, so the ad revenue goes to the original video creators.
Perhaps one of the best categories in Tuned Rocks are the Vlogs. Here you get never ending streaming lists of original content from top YouTubers that you’d be hard pressed to put together yourself even if you’re an avid follower of viral content.
If you have kids, you’ll also be able to let them loose on Tuned Rocks’ list of safe curated channels, with safe categories like learning (by age ranges), Nursery Rhymes, singing, full episodes of cartoons, movies…
