FB adds analytics support to Bots for Messenger

For those of you out there who’ve built bots using the Facebook Messenger platform, here’s some news – FB has now decided to add analytics support for the same.

According to a post on its official blog, FB said ever since it had launched the Messenger Platform at the F8 developers conference in April this year, businesses & developers had built over 33,000 bots to engage with people. These included bots that can accept payments, deliver news & Content, share weather updates, confirm reservations at a hotel, send receipts from a recent purchase, in order to help drive personalized, scaled experiences with customers.

Inspired by this, FB, it was offering 2 more resources “to make building & measuring bots for Messenger easier than ever. With the analytics capabilities, developers were now eligibile to join the FbStart program.

With this new free tool, you’ll be able to view reports on messages sent, messages received, and people who block or unblock your app — without having to add additional code. In addition, you’ll have access to aggregated and anonymized demographic reports such as age, gender, education, interests, country, language, and much more to help you better understand who’s engaging with your bots. For bots associated with multiple Pages, you’ll be able to filter results at the page-level to view analytics for a specific Page.
