Even mobile battery gets into the act of snooping on you

Really! Someone rightly said – digital life was never meant to protect one’s security & privacy. Of all the things, Online reports quoting researchers are now saying that even the batteries of your mobile phone may be leaking information about you, which, a clever hacker could use to identify the owner & track him around the Internet. So much so, this was possible for even those who had taken the utmost precaution where privacy was concerned, according to security researchers.
A piece of software in HTML5 — the technology used to let people read Sites on the Web — tells Websites how much battery is left in a users’ phone, & is intended to allow websites to help preserve battery if phones are running low. But that same info could be used to identify phones as they move around the Web.
What’s worse, Websites & the scripts that run on them don’t even have to ask users’ permission to see how much charge is left, so phones will respond to the request to say how much charge they have & how long it will take them to power back up. This info can then be used as a way of identifying the phones themselves, without their users ever knowing.
