Secure your passwords with ‘Avast Passwords for Mac’

free password manager

‘Avast Passwords for Mac’ is a service that will get all your passwords secured behind one – on multiple platforms. It is a free password manager that you can use in every device starting with your Mac.

In addition, Avast Password for Mac will help you to easily autofill log in information for all your accounts. It can be used in Safari or Chrome, iOS or Android. Saving your passwords on your phone or browser can be quite risky. With Avast Passwords for Mac, they will store your passwords under 5 layers of encryption.

Avast Password for Mac will easily access the passwords you’ve saved in Chrome & 1Password. Thereafter, it can import them for safe storage. Also, they will back them up on the Avast Cloud. To allow for secure synchronization of encrypted passwords between devices, this tool uses ECDH key agreement & AE-256. The developer claims, as a result, you will get an encryption that provides military strength confidentiality for your login credentials.

How Avast Passwords for Mac works

  • It involves using a Master Password that only you know. This master P is not stored anywhere on your device or Avast’s servers. This password will protect everything stored in this Avast app. Also, it will allow you to create a different Master Password for each device you use.
  • You will use this Master P to unlock the Avast passwords on your device. The Avast Password for Mac then opens an encrypted, randomly generated key stored locally on your device. This local key then repeats this same process of secure steps to unlock the password vault on your device.
  • This vault protects individual encryption keys. The keys unlock each of your login account passwords & usernames. Each of your accounts will require a different, randomly generated encrypted key.
  • You can also enable backup & synchronization to help you store your login credentials on Avast servers. However, for your privacy, Avast can’t access these credentials because they don’t have the required local key.
