‘Diggernaut’ turns your unorganised Web Content into structured data

diggernaut

‘Diggernaut ‘is a Cloud-based service helps you in Web scraping, data extraction among other ETL tasks.

To use Diggernaut, you don’t really need to have programming skills. The service provides you with a Virtual Extractor tool that you can use to build configurations for your digger. In addition, they provide you with video lessons to help you develop your digger. On the other hand, if you are a Web developer or programmer, the platform allows you to use the meta language to build configuration for your digger.

Diggernaut also has meta language documentation to help you in using the platform. Also, there are some blog posts that guide users on metalanguage functions. If creating a digger is cumbersome, you can hire their developer who can build a digger that will collect data & present it in the format you want.

How does Diggernaut work

This service works by allowing you to create a digger, which is a tiny robot that enables you to extract data from Sites. Also, it normalizes this data & saves it to the Cloud. You can then download the data in CSV, XLS or JSON format or retrieve it using Diggernaut’s Rest API.

Diggernaut uses Golang, a compiled programming language as a backend for their digger. With Golang, you spend less of your server resources as well as get more data. If you create a digger, it can work with many pages. The digger can jump from 1 Website to another & get you all the data you need. However, for this to work, you should ensure all your root data objects contain the same structure.

The digger also utilizes the platform’s OCR module allowing you to extract text from images. Diggernaut also allows you to run diggers on your server at no charge at all. You simply compile your digger into an executable file for Win, Linux or Mac. Then you can download the file on your computer or server & run it there.

To use this platform, you can opt for a free or a paid plan depending on your preferences.
