opentestNeed feedback for your app, wireframe, prototype or Website? Are your product managers in need of making a video product tutorial? Or your sales & customer support teams on a constant look out for personalizing the user experience? No sweat, perhaps this browser extension may help. ‘Openvid’ is bringing a 1-stop solution for all these needs.

Openvid is an Online recording tool which is compatible for use with Chrome, to create seamless, HD-quality (if you are using Chrome 49 & above) videos using one’s computer screen, microphone & front-facing Webcam. Openvid lets you perform all these tasks with free, unlimited recording & storage. Once the video is done, a downloadable & shareable link becomes immediately available. 1 just needs to add a Chrome extension to enable Openvid to function.

Openvid was recently launched by Opentest, Inc. – a San Mateo, California, US-based startup. Opentest is aimed at helping entrepreneurs, developers & product managers create an enhanced experience for their customers & end users. A group of 3 young entrepreneurs – Shahed Khan (Founder), Joe Thomas (Head of Product) & Vinay Hiremath (Founder & Head of Engineering) – set up Opentest 5 months back with a business model that runs on an ever-expanding network of multi-talented experts. These experts test, validate, evaluate & provide expert recommendations & feedback to the early-stage startup entrepreneurs & Web developers regarding their Websites & apps, before the public launch.

Some of the early clients of Openvid include Scribd, myfitnesspal, Clearbit, Vungle, Boxed & brain.fm.

Openvid is available in Chrome Web store for download. The team is improving Openvid in terms of full desktop recording, more flexibility in recording settings & other features.
