‘SLOWLY’ is a smartphone app that aims to bring in the old tradition of pen pals in today’s social networking era. The app helps you to match your profile with that of others, sharing the same passions as you. You can then write letters & collect stamps regarding your pen pals from around the world.
As it developers claims, SLOWLY is unlike other networking or dating apps. This is because it brings the pen pal experience of yester-years to your smartphone. Currently, the app only mails digital letters. With this new app, you can write & receive these digital letters from anywhere in the world. In addition, to make sure its uniqueness is intact, the developers have ensured that the letters take time to be delivered. Therefore, the farther your pen pal is from you, the longer it will take to deliver your letter to them.
SLOWLY even helps members build a stamp collection. The stamps are unlocked by traveling & meeting new pals.
To use this new app, you need a nickname & an avatar. Matches for your pen pals are mainly based on language & common interests. Hence, for a start, you can practice a language & exchange thoughts with your pen pals with the same passion as you. In your letter, you can talk about movies, music among other things which interest both of you.
Unfortunately, for Android users, SLOWLY’s currently only available to iOS users. However, the developers claim that and Android version of the app will roll out soon. The app is free to download with no indicated ”in-app pricing.
