Cloudflare memory leak bug & its aftermath – News

Cloudflare, a service that helps optimize the performance of Websites, has issued a warning today that a software bug had exposed loads of information that may have included passwords, cookies & tokens used to authenticate users.
It made the announcement on its official blog. Several factors may have made the bug particularly severe. The bug was active since September 22, 2016 before being discovered. What’s even more damaging is that it leaked highly sensitive info which was cached by Google & other search engines. Which means hackers had the ability to access the data in real time by making Web requests to affected Websites & to access some of the leaked data later by crafting queries on search engines.
