‘Chatty’ lets you anonymously chat with strangers from within Facebook

Have you ever wanted to have a quick chat with someone but you can’t get a hold of any of your friends? There are a few anonymous chat apps available but ‘Chatty’ is unique in that it works within Facebook & lets you communicate in a bunch of different languages.

With this Web app you can anonymously chat with random strangers in languages like Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, & many more. It’s a great tool for brushing up on your language skills, or to just pass the time chatting up people using your own language.

You just go to the Chatty app page while you’re logged on to Facebook on your desktop or mobile device & send a message to get started. Then choose the language you’d like to use through the “Select Language” button, & the app will match you up with other Facebook users using Chatty who speak those languages.

The app is free to use & you don’t have to register to use it. To end a conversation you just tap “Action” from the menu on the bottom left part of your screen.

According to Rane, the Tokyo, Japan-based startup behind Chatty, all chats are absolutely anonymous & other users are never informed about your profile. This means that it is completely anonymous & your Facebook friends will not be aware of any conversations you’re having.

You can end conversations when these don’t pan out & just keep trying until you find a fun person to chat with. It can be an interesting way to both while away the time & to let serendipity match you up with interesting people.

Rane is a software development company that was founded in June of 2016 & is specialized in Web-based & mobile systems. The app makes use of the Heroku Cloud Application Platform & Python.
