This might be the case with members of your real life social circle, they’ve been left behind in the new world of tech & communications, or just don’t want to bother with it. Boom Connections lets active social media users share with friends & family who don’t have social media accounts.
The free Android & iOS app is ideal for getting your grandma or grandpa, or older parents or uncles to share in modern social activities. It lets you choose between being an author or a follower when you 1st install it. If your role is Follower, you can invite friends or family members that you want to follow, and you’ll receive their private feeds.
If you sign up as an author, it means that you’re an active social media user, & you can share your Instagram or Facebook feeds with folks who have signed up as followers, to their private news feeds. As an author, you can choose which posts will be seen by your followers in their newsfeed & which will remain unseen. A right swipe includes the posts & a left swipe dismisses them.
The app also comes with a private chat feature so that users can have private conversations that no one else will be able to view or comment on. So you can now connect with family members or friends who aren’t tech savvy or don’t like the idea of having public profiles. Not only that, but you can slowly get them informed of family moments & memories that they’d otherwise miss & interest them in social media while you’re at it.
Boom Connections is a mobile app under development by a startup based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. It’s free & available for iPhone & iPad on the Apple Store.
