Asus ‘Tinker Board’ is Raspberry Pi alternative with 4K video support

This report was 1st published on our sister Site, Digital World Native.

Asus, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has announced the upcoming availability of this new hobbyist single-board computer, ‘Tinker Board.’ It’s said to offer 4K video & 24-bit audio support through its HDMI port, & has the same format & dimensions as the market leading Raspberry Pi board.

Like the Raspberry Pi, it does not come with a power supply or any other peripherals. Just connect it to a standard Micro USB power supply, any old keyboard & monitor or TV with an HDMI port & you’re on your way. You can use it as a computer, media player or as a video console emulator, although where it really shines is, as its name implies, to tinker with it.

It features a fast Cortex on-board processor & Wi-Fi & Bluetooth capabilities.
