A Startup that claims to simplify your Online communications
By: Ask Bob, April 25, 2012
Most of us have multiple email accounts & of course, multiple Social Networking accounts. How many times
have we asked ourselves this question - how useful it would be if we
could manage all of these from a centralised account? This San
Francisco, USA-based Startup Unified Inbox claims to be one such central location.
This Startup claims it can help manage all your communications from one place. Unified Inbox
says it also helps in removing "unnecessary noise & clutter",
reduce the time "wasted" on maintaining multiple email accounts &
"communication overload."
So, how does it do all that? Users need to initially register
to start using this service. There's a 14-day trial period & then
they need to sign up for one of the Paid services. They can use any of
their Social Networking accounts to register. Once done, users can go about bringing all their email accounts under the roof of UI. Users can connect as many accounts as they want simply because the email accounts do not occupy any space on the Unified Inbox
servers, because they continue to rest on the original email accounts
space. So, no worrying about how much space is Free or still available.
Among the many other plus points of this Startup is the ability to use it as an internal communication toolbetween friends or colleagues from within one organisation. Messages/comments between colleagues can be exchanged from within a Unified account on any email sent or received. Which means Intranet features, too. In fact, Unified brings together all communication & collaboration in one Web App, across different devices & platforms.
What's more, you can share your Facebook updates or Twitter posts with friends & other contacts from this communication unifier.
There's also a facility to have a unified archives folder, which once again can be shared between colleagues. You can personalize your emails
by adding signatures & adding templates. You can even schedule an
email to be sent later. Users can even immediately access to Unified Inbox to send emails of any interesting stuff they come across while surfing the Net.
This Startup helps you walk thru other Sites
By: Ask Bob, April 22, 2012
Tell us, how many times have you gone to a Website & well....found it thoroughly confusing? Not this one we hope for at What's New On The Net we
believe in keeping things Simple. Anyway, coming to the point, for
Websites that become a tiny bit ungainly or complicated, there's a
Startup called WalkMe that will tell users/readers how to use the Startup by using text balloons at appropriate places, a kinda 'hold my hands' tool.
WalkMe is a Startup that allows Sites to give their users/readers/customers
a 'walk-thru' to make sure that they understand or complete any
revenue-generating or mission-critical task put in front of them.
Website owners can insall a very small piece of code on their Sites
& soon, their users are getting a step-by-step guidance in how to
use the Site. And, everytime you make changes to your Site's interface
or elements, WalkMe reads those changes & automatically incorporates them in the set of instructions.
Walk-Thru’s are smart balloon
tips attached directly to your Website or web-based Apps, & pop up
from the corner of the WebPage. It also nullifies the need to create
expensive & time consuming "how to" videos, claim the guys behind WalkMe.
Walk-Thru's are not unlimited though. From a Free account to a Silver & Gold accounts,
there are various options, depending on your needs. For small Websites,
you can opt for a Free account & get 3 Walk-Thru's in return while the Gold plan, costing US $97 a month gives a Website the option of installing 15 Walk-Thrus. Then there are also tailor-made solutions for Website owners, too.
WalkMe is a Tel Aviv, Israel based Startup.
