The version launched today of this App - version 3.0 - according to its developers, hosts a variety of features & improvements with regards to Social discovery & location-awareness. EyeEm intuitively suggests relevant tags based on your location, for example.
This App launched in August 2011 is located in Berlin, Germany. But according to the information available on the developer's Website, it all started in New York City in 2010. Excited over taking photos with their phones, the guys behind EyeEm hosted an exhibition showing images solely produced with mobile devices: and got steamrolled by the staggering 15.000 submissions that flooded their blog. Thus the idea for an App to take photos together was born.
