Move over Facebook, here comes KikHub

By: Sorab Ghaswalla, Sept 14, 2012

Facebook co-founder Mark Z. was entering his 21st year & studying at Harvard University when he & his friends founded the Social Network. Ruchir Sharma is a 9th grade student of Doon Public School, New Delhi, India, & he has founded a Social Network called KikHub. (Can they come any younger than this?)

Launched on June 28, 2012, the idea for a Social Networking Site came to Ruchir while watching the famous Hollywood movie - The Social Network (talk of inspiration), he says in a press note. There was no stopping him thereafter. What Ruchir wanted to create was a Social Information Network. This, according to Ruchir, is the next breed of Social Networks. KikHub, he says, is just that.
It allows members to post on topics, upload photos, create bookmarks & add hobbies to their profiles. Members have the ability to like or dislike content, as well as add their own comments. Private messages can also be exchanged.

Ruchir who loves to dabble in programming claims he has not used any Content Management System in KikHub.
“For KikHub, privacy and simplicity are the two most important points of focus” says Ruchir. “You can add people to a specific group, such as ‘Friends’ or ‘Acquaintances’ and then share only with the people you want. Only the people whom you certify can view what you share.”

This Free "Social Information Network" is meant to be simple (as we here on What's New On The Net love things to be), secure & speedier.

And, guess what Ruchir's future plans are? To include a social network specifically for schools, where teachers & students can exchange information, as well as a mobile application.
