List your mistakes

By: Sorab Ghaswalla, Aug 13, 2012

Most of us love to talk about our achievements but how many of us would want to talk about the mistakes we've made? There's a Startup called Mistakopedia now that asks you to do just that - publicly list your mistakes.

This Bangalore-India based Startup calls itself the "Knowledge Waste Management Company". It wants anyone & everyone to come forward & list their mistakes on Mistakopedia.  Then, whatever the mistake may be. You can even tag your mistakes to relevant subjects. Some of the mistakes listed on this Site are: My friend was working on a financial project and he had System.out printed on the statement....&.....I did the mistake of holding the colour spray to my face.

So, why would anyone want to report their own mistakes? At least the developers of this Site believe that having an entire Site dedicated to only mistakes that people make will help reduce time and effort when others are doing something similar. You can even find information about brands or companies, they claim, which could be helpful. Eg: If you are about to buy a new software, you can check out if anyone has posted any information, advise or mistake to be avoided while doing so. Essentially, it may help you make an informed decision.

Launched in January 2012, the Site's Blog informs us that Mistakopedia won 1st place at Startup Weekend, Bangalore.

Mistakes are listed by topics - from Science to Politics. You can list your mistakes by logging in using your Twitter, FB or Google account. You can even search the Site for mistakes, & the Search results include tweets. On the other hand, you can also give advice or suggestions in particular brands or companies.

Mistakopedia is a product of a company called Howard Roarke Laughed
