Firewall against those bogus Apps
By: Amy on Apps, July 27, 2012
So like I was saying, here are Apps out there which are up to tricks without the owner's knowledge. They could, for example, beam out your geo-location to others. Or give out your crucial info to advertisers.
DroidWall claims to put an end to all such malicious Apps. Using a Linux based firewall, it allows you to restrict which Applications are permitted to access your data networks (2G/3G and/or Wi-Fi).
The App has a dashboard from where you can adjust your Apps control & how each accesses the Web. Each App comes with 2 checkboxes: One is for Wi-Fi data access & the 2nd for cellular data. Tick whichever option you want or leave them blank. You can then activate the firewall.
The only thing you need to understand before downloading this App is that you will need to do some Root tweaking.
After installing, you can go to 'Help' to understand how to use the App.
DroidWall has been developed by Rodrigo ZR & is Free to use.
