Mixing digital with real world

About a year ago, this very Website had written about an Amsterdam-based Startup called Layar, that has technology which allows users to take the help of various in-built "layers" in your mobile devices, superimpose them on the things in the Real World, just to get an idea how a certain painting or a plate would look in a certain setting in real life, without of course the object in question being physically present.
Augment is something like that. A France-based company, the Augment App allows you to view any photo or image on any settings in the Real World, using Augmented Reality. Then, like I said before, it could be on your walls, your T Shirt, your plates....wherever.
 Here's an example: You are window shopping. You spy a painting that you think could look good on your bedroom wall. Now, obviously, in the Real World, you would have to first buy the painting and take your chances. You go home only to find either the panting clashes with your bedroom decor or it's too small. With Augment, you can superimpose a 3D photo of the painting through your mobile device on the actual wall of your bedroom to understand whether it fits. No need to actually buy the painting first.
It's like previewing every thing before actually going ahead and doing it.
Augment also allows you to take photographs off the Net & test them before buying Online. This is done using "Cubes". You create your own cube, add an image from the Web on it; hey presto, it almost looks real. At the end, the Augment Cube is all about previewing objects & products at home when all you have is just a couple of photos & the dimensions. You can even share your cub with others.
The App is Free to use. All you need to do besides downloading is print what is called a "marker" to use this App to the fullest.
