Of Inspiration and illustration

Those who are regular surfers come across several websites or blog during their daily sojurn through cyberspace. Design is one thing that not many pay real attention to. There are designs, and then, there are designs. An unusual design is some thing that always grabs one's attention. And, when there are lots of them put together in some one's blog, it adds that twist to a surfing experience. That is why this website exists - any thing that adds a new dimension to your Internet experience will always find a mention here. AcrisDesign is a blog dedicated to web designers, web developers, freelancers, bloggers and the rest of the Internet community. Here you will find topics related to web design, development and all the stuff that is bound to make your website or blog leap out from your computer screens.
Till 2 years ago, 21-year-old Vikas Ghodke 21M was just another teenager in India. Then, he acquired a computer and an Internet connection. Soon, he stumbled (pardon the pun) upon Orkut, Facebook and other social sites. It was not long before he was researching on webdesign and development. AcrisDesign is the outcome. The blog has various sections – Tutorials, Resources and even one called Inspiration, which looks like an e-zine. There are posts that give you tips on designs and even how to improve your "freelance creativity". The designs posted here are visual treats. All that is fine but Vikas, what is 21M all about? Sorry we could not figure that one out.

Tips for making money off the Net, attracting more fans...and other such things
By: Ask Bob May 23, 2010
After viewing this site you may not be able to fly, call down bolts of lightning or gain any extraordinary super powers which may allow you telekinetic or telepathic abilities. You could get lucky however. :-p. These lines made our webspiders stop in their webbing/spidding/whatever (pardon the language for humour's sake). The blog was sending out the right (w)ibes. A click on the 'About' section told us we were right.
This story is all about a gent who goes by the name Rob Malon. Based in a Chicago suburb, this lad is a graduate from the Western Illinois University. His personal journal http://robmalon.com/ is what caught the attention of our webspiders. Rob is into Web/Graphic Design - PHP/mySQL, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya, SEO, Marketing, Content Management Systems, Advertising and Affiliate Tactics. Obviously, his blog then is all about that. He has described himself in his blog as an entrepreneur who has been running multiple sites to make money online, starting when he was just a kiddo by running a gaming website. His blog, started some time late 2007, is to share and brainstorm ideas with the cyber community, to allow others to do the same. What Rob has to offer is tips and tricks to automate and increase website traffic, hits and e-commerce, reduce time on daily routines to keep your website/blog running and up, increasing the overall efficiency of running a website and to create and monetize websites while utilizing free new tools and tactics. For webpublishers, Rob may have a tip or two up his sleeve. His blog is divided into categories like Advertising, Affiliate Marketing, Make Money, among others. There is even one called Ramblings. There are also videos posted on the blog for those who find reading to be a chore. Tips range from making sense of Google Analytics to Word Press optimisation.
Rob, we found, has a sizeable fan following (one of the many reasons he is being featured here). So, Internet publishers, bloggers, et all, perhaps Rob may have some thing for your website or blog.

Don't surf, float
By: Ask Bob April 23, 2010
Two days ago I was researching the web for updates in the Cloud Computing space when I landed up at
a blog called CloudTweaks. Now this blog is really a one-stop shop (as this website is aiming to be for the entire Web) for your Cloud Computing queries. It has blogs on Cloud, a list of Cloud Vendors, posts on the Cloud, and ....well, you get the drift. So, instead of using this post to give you our regular update on Cloud Computing, I am straying from the point to tell you about this blog. CloudTweaks also offers to list your cloud computing organisation/online service. Among the host of other services it provides is a list of upcoming events in this sphere (I like this pun) and updated cloud related information taken off the Web. Besides, there are several links to Cloud related articles. CloudTweaks incidentally was also the official blogger for the Cloud Computing Congress held in Europe this March. Cloud Computing as a concept has been around for 3 years or so but with Microsoft getting in (a little late, though) with its Windows Azure, and more and more vendors to follow, blogs like CloudTweaks are a great help to keep up.

| One man's attempt at providing info |
|
Our search brought us to the blogstepof Tim, an IT specialist. Although Tim has been blogging since 2007, we thought we should bring him to the notice of our readers. So, what is so different about Tim from the other bloggers? Tim decided to name his blog http://ahtim.com since almost every one around him would call him by the name, "Ah, Tim." Why did we decide to feature his blog in our 'News' section although it's been around since 2007? (Many of you bloggers may not be able to pass similar muster). Tim's attempt, single-handedly, to provide bloggers all kinds of information - from How to edit files in Windows to How to recover deleted files from a dropbox to How to procure a free printer - grabbed us. Tim says he now wants to get on to full-time blogging so that "he can spend more time with his family, do god's work" and of course, keep providing bloggers with some handy tips. Way to go.....
